London in 12 Hours, An Itinerary

Just like Tokyo, New York, Singapore, Dubai and Paris, London always seemed out of reach for me. It seemed to be fictional, existing only in books and movies. I’ve always had the impression that these places are where dreams are made of. That these places shine the brightest from space. Imagine, being given the chance to visit it twice. My first love story in London lasted for less than 24 hours only. It was back in 2013 when it welcomed…

Kensington Palace and Gardens

If you’re a fan or, at least, interested with the royals and monarchy then Britain is for you.   Kensington Palace has been home to royals for 300 years now. It was where Queen Victoria was born and spent her childhood years, as well as, first moments of being Queen before transferring to Buckingham Palace. For the non-royals savvy, I’m sure you’ve heard of the Victorian Era, aside from the name, I always get reminded of ball gowns, cinched waist…

The Adventure to Stonehenge, Wiltshire

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words.. well, I think words may hurt me. Little Venice in London

Venice, known for its canals and gondolas, has always been on the bucket list of many, mine included. But since a trip to Italy is not feasible at this time, I settled for this cute little gem I found in London.     I never thought I’d find anything close to tranquility in busy London, especially during the day. That changed when we walked through the neighborhood after arriving at Warwick Station (Underground). It was definitely more of a residential…

UK 2016: Henry and the World’s First Cast-Iron Bridge

With regards to tourist sites, first anything always amazes me, especially if it’s something massive and intricate. They didn’t have the machinery and technology back then, yet, we are able to visit all these century-old churches and towns with impressive architecture and design. The Ironbridge view from the toll house. In 1777, the world’s first cast-iron bridge was built in Shropshire, England led by Abraham Darby I, who first developed the technique of smelting iron ore with coke (fuel) instead…

UK 2016: Henry and the Royal Air Force Museum

When it comes to planes, my cousin, Henry, is the family’s go-to person. He got it from his dad and his dad can probably pronounce the models better but who can resist a three-year-old giving you plane trivia non-stop? The Royal Air Force is United Kingdom’s aerial warfare force. Both Prince William and Prince Harry attended Defence Helicopter Flying School at RAF Shawbury. Prince William used to serve the RAF as a pilot for search and rescue missions. We spent…
