The Must-Visits of Bohol, All in One Day

Back in April this year, I got to visit Bohol again. I’ve luckily been a few times and it’s a place you don’t get enough of. I think, Bohol is one of the quick getaways Cebuanos choose, if they aren’t going up north or down south for some good beach escapades. Floating Restaurant and Ati Tribe The restaurant is ‘floating’ because you get to eat while cruising through the Loboc River. How clean and green the river is, is purely amazing.…

A Day at Crimson Resort and Spa, Mactan

After having lunch at Saffron Café as part of our day rate package, we head outside. We were greeted by the raging heat, thanks to Mr. Sunshine, himself. It felt like the peak of summer happened that day. It was beautiful, nevertheless. The sand was golden, flowers were as saturated and as brightly hued as it can be, and the sea was the perfect blue. It took all my might not to just jump in the water then and there as…

Saffron Café at Crimson Resort and Spa, Mactan

A few Sundays ago, I spent a day at Crimson Resort and Spa in Mactan. This view welcomes you to Crimson. Being an island girl means spontaneous beach trips and a 5-minute drive to the shore. The thing is, we normally don’t go for the posh resorts since we know the hidden gems or those with good money:quality ratio. Recently though, we’ve been hanging out in Shangri-La and have not broken up with them just yet. We wanted something new,…

Oh, Leah, My Leah

Completing the trilogy that is our quick getaway to the mountains of Cebu is our visit to Temple of Leah. Around 15 minutes of ups and downs from Sirao peak, we arrived at the temple which is along the same slope as Mountain View and Lantaw. It was very crowded as several people also had the idea of visiting the temple since it was a nationwide holiday. You pay Php50 as entrance fee at the gigantic gate of the temple.…

Sirao Peak, The Easy Way

Spontaneity at its best. Original plan was to visit the Sirao garden and the Temple of Leah, but since we were already in Sirao, we thought, we might as well climb the peak! You see, I’ve never trekked before. My trek resumé only has one entry and that’s my 5-year stay at the University of San Carlos. If you have been, you’ll know that some buildings are way up the hills & mountains. I remember catching a 4:30 class uphill after…

Celosia Argentea in Sirao Farm

I had a two-day blank canvas waiting to be painted on, thanks to holidays and freedom. Last year, I wanted this to be the weekend that I go out of the country, alone. That didn’t happen for reasons happening next month. So I settled down with barangay Sirao and its celosias and cool breeze. Not bad at all! Blog posts and selfies went viral, including that one disheartening post showing people leaving trash and consequently, ruining the flowers. I mean,…
