What I Wore To South Korea: Gingham Ruffled Skirt

Fourth day and we were starting to feel sluggish. This was also the first day that we stayed strictly within Seoul. Which meant a lot more walking than usual. Hence, my favorite outfit that trip became my most uncomfortable and painful. Here’s day 4 with the most beautiful gingham ruffled skirt.

These boots weren’t made for walking. I’m not sure why it didn’t hurt as much when we went to Everland. But I think it’s because I wore stockings this day and made it hard to ‘brake’ as it was slippery inside. My feet were in constant pressure to stay up. But I digress.

Despite it giving me the most pain, it’s still my favorite because I never thought I’d be wearing ruffled skirt in the cold. Something that would normally be worn during summer, worked well with autumn, too! The skirt was also quite long so it didn’t really expose much of my skin to the cold. Anyway, I had my coat to provide me an extra layer.

Bold in black and white, I paired the gingham skirt with something muted but still gives a statement. Muted for its color, statement for its sleeves. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll remember this as one of my fashion polls. I made you choose which color I should buy, mustard or pink. Pink won and I couldn’t be any happier as it was indeed the perfect choice. It photographed really well and made my vibe so much lighter. Bold but light, go figure. One con, however, it shed like crazy. My black coat had pink fur all over within hours! Gah.

The almighty Thumb, and wrong earrings.

To add even more trends, I put my hair in a bun and capped myself with a baker boy hat. Then three-tiered black earrings that I would’ve worn if I hadn’t forgot! I unthinkingly wore these heart earrings, because bun + cute shaped earrings = nice. It was only the day after that I remembered, I had these specifically for this outfit. Next time, perhaps! Then maybe, next time, I’ll pair it with knee high sock boots?
