I’ve edited the photos and been dreaming about Amorita for quite some time now. But again and again, words have failed me. As you may have noticed, I barely published content the past few months. I’m still trying to get my mojo back, which hopefully comes back soon as I believe it will. Exciting things will happen next week and I won’t hold back sharing it to you, that’s for sure! I planned this day to be shoot day but Typhoon Paolo is raging outside. So while the freakishly strong winds (seriously, you can hear it) carry on and hopefully, move on soon, let’s try to make something out of my thoughts, yes?
Beyond The Cliff
I’ve seen, but not known, Amorita Resort since I first visited Panglao, Bohol in 2009. Panglao wasn’t what it is now, it was still peaceful and unassuming. The only eye-catching establishment at the time was a secluded cliff resort at the end of the Alona beach strip. I was curious and always wanted to see what goes beyond on top of the cliff behind the greenery. 8 years forward and that mysterious cliff resort has kindly invited me to experience their award-winning amenities and world-class service with the signature Filipino hospitality.
After a chill overnight stay at Momo Beach House (a sister company), we were welcomed by the infinity pool which has the most stunning views of all of Alona Beach. You can most certainly discern that the resort is on the higher end spectrum with its elaborate interiors and accommodating staff.
Among the lush greenery beyond the reception, a modern industrial designed building stands which has both the Tomar Tapas x Bar and Saffron restaurant. Fronting the restaurants is a couple of infinity pools of various depths with an equally stunning view as the first one, but with less shore, more seas.
Your stay at the resort includes a daily breakfast buffet at Saffron. More than you need and want, from cereal to unlimited bacon and fresh fruits. There’s no better way to wake up to than a grand variety of breakfast foods.
Villas and Suites
Amorita being secluded atop a limestone cliff, and away from most resorts along Alona, already offers exclusivity and privacy. But you can still add more of that all to yourself as they have 3 types of villas; Garden Villa, Ocean Villa and Two Bedroom Pool Villa. As for the suites, they offer rooms ranging from 25 to 120 sqm with Deluxe Rooms to Two Bedroom Seaview Suites.
Most resorts I’ve been to has that usual hotel interiors, carpeted rooms, cushioned headboards and bright walls. But Amorita continued to impress me with how they took that modern-industrial theme without compromising comfort.
After having consumed my body weight in paella and croquetas courtesy of Tomar Tapas x Bar, Mariana and I wandered around the resort and found what I think is their best feature. Their own cove and shoreline via a hidden entrance! Seriously, if you’re a celebrity and you wanna go away from paparazzi, then this is the resort for you. Or if you’re just a non-celebrity person like me but in dire need of being away from the city without going too far away from the city, this is also the resort for you.
The food is superb, the paella alone from Tomar is reason enough for me to go back. With the croquetas as added bonus. There are plenty of activities to do and facilities to use. Aside from the topnotch service, the exclusivity definitely makes me want to go back. Secluded as they are, they also give you the option to go down and stroll along Alona. You won’t ever feel like missing out on the upbeat music and parties if you fancy that. Amorita is literally the best of both worlds. And most of all, Amorita is just breathtakingly beautiful, from the people who takes care of you to the priceless views. Absolutely one of the best in the Philippines!
What can I say, I fell in love with the resort on a cliff!
