In case you missed it, I did a come shop with me with BeautyMNL a couple of weeks ago. And I can finally do a first impressions for most of the products I ordered! Without further ado, here are the skin care finds from BeautyMNL (and a couple for hair and beauty).
Clean It Zero Foam Cleanser
I can finally bin my current cleanser which smells like blood and rust. A definite step up, I’ve loved this cleanser since first use. I chose this product because its cleanser cream / make up remover counterpart has become my holy grail. It removes the most stubborn mascara and eyeliner very easily. As they are of the same color, I expected the same scent. To my surprise, this foam cleanser barely had any. I only got to smell a very faint fruity note when I was cleansing my nose area. Other than that, you can’t literally smell it anymore. So for those who are scent-sitive, add this to your must-try list! It’s gentle and will leave your skin supple without making it feel too tight. Though, if used with the scrub below, you will feel squeaky clean after, staying true to its name.
Witch Hazel Clarifying Facial Scrub by The Beauty Bakery
I haven’t had a scrub for over a year now. I didn’t get on well with Skin Food’s strawberry scrub mask. But this one left a good first impression. The product smells like peppermint candy to me. Don’t worry, though, as it isn’t overwhelming. I think the reason why I didn’t like the strawberry one is because the seeds were too big and it didn’t feel effective. This witch hazel scrub, however, has the right size of granules and enough coarseness that it truly feels like it is exfoliating your dry skin. Afterwards, you will feel tight and ready for moisturizing.
Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist by The Beauty Bakery
I’ve used this before as primer and after make up as setting mist but I’m not sure if the make up stayed longer. Although, I’ve observed my T-zone getting less sebum than usual. This observation was also true when I sprayed the facial mist before bed time. I woke up with less to no sebum at all, especially around my nose, the usual victim! It also smells like peppermint candy similar to the scrub above. And I wonder if that’s the witch hazel I’m smelling?
Anti Eyeging by Skin Genie
I’ve just recently embraced I’m not getting any younger, haha. And that’s why I’m frantically trying to find the right skin care for me. But none of them targets under eye. With the busy and sleepless nights I’ve had, I don’t wake up like Beyoncé anymore. Puffy with a hint of dark circles, it has bothered me a lot the past month. So I decided to try this roll-on serum by Skin Genie for under eye, as it had good reviews. So far, I can attest to my eyes being less puffy in the morning, but it has not done anything to my dark corners just yet. Here’s to hoping that if I continue to use this for the next couple of months, it will lighten up.
One observation, though, it didn’t work well with my Nature Republic aloe vera soothing moisturizer. I woke up with so much oil in my face the morning after. I’m not sure if this was the culprit or something else as I’ve been trying a lot of new products.
HAHAHAHA, I know! ‘Tis a funny product but we all do it so let’s get the gross awkwardness out of the way. I’ve heard of PooPourri from YouTubers I follow and I got unnecessarily excited when I found out there’s an equivalent in BeautyMNL. I argued with myself first if I was to get it or not so I won’t have to review said product. I never thought I would talk about poo in my blog ever. But hey, it’s a really good product! I recently went to an out of town trip with family and friends sharing one toilet. It was the perfect time to try it out. I let my mum use it first and she was laughing after and said I should buy more because she’d like to do business number 2 and smell like vanilla. I tried it next and it was true. No funny odor, just vanilla! I now know what to give people on Christmas! There’s also a mint variant, and I might try that next. Here’s to non-smelly poops in public!
Beachborn Sea Salt Spray
This one I can’t recommend nor not-recommend just yet as I feel like i haven’t used it at all. I may write a separate blog about this raved product since it also offers many ways to use it and achieve long lasting curls. Do watch out for that!
Sugar Tint by Pink Sugar
I’ve only owned one lip & cheek tint ever and it was a horrible experience for me, so I decided not to try any more just yet. However, beautyMNL gifted me this one during our small chat and I, surprisingly, love it. I, honestly, still don’t use it everyday but it’s a step up from the bitter lip tint I’ve tried before. It has a grape smell and very pigmented. You have to be careful when dotting some on your cheeks and lips as it provides so much payoff already with just a dot. I tried washing it with water and it required me rubbing my skin to take it off entirely. So, while it’s not that waterproof, it is water resistant and smudge proof!
And that’s it! I love how most of the products were from local brands and that they were just as promising as Korean products. Clean It Zero is now my favorite cleanser, be it cream or foam! Plus, everyone should buy Deja Poo, to save us all from smelly toilets! I hope you enjoyed that one, and be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram as I may be giving away something from BeautyMNL. *wink wink
