Friday Nights are Grill Nights at Saffron in Amorita Resort, Bohol

We have a quick one today! I know I’ve been silent across the social media platforms lately as I’ve been out and about around Cebu. However, we’re throwing it back to Bohol today. We’ve talked about Momo Beach House’s magic and the delightful Spanish feast we had in Tomar. Tonight, we’re going grill nights at Saffron.

After Tomar, we were able to roam around the resort and burn the food away. Just enough for us to be stomach-ready for a buffet night in Saffron Restaurant at Amorita Resort. Saffron is located underneath Tomar, with direct access to Amorita’s second infinity pool.

Let’s start with appetizers!

Pomelo and papaya salad were apparently gaining fame and getting attached to the Amorita name. If you’re a fan of achara and the pomelo fruit then you’ll like this. They also have greens and veggies for you to make your own salad with their special dressing. A hearty molo soup for your soul and a variety of bread to choose from. There are also spring rolls and fried shrimps that you should try and dip in their spiced vinegar. Yum!

Baked Oysters were a favorite that night. I’d prefer not to share how many I’ve indulged but hey.. they were fresh and I love melted cheese!

You can then find these pork skewers and chicken yakitori, plus stuffed squid and banana leaf covered fish, fresh off the grill!

Not of the grill variety but just as delicious are mixed vegetables, prawns in garlic sauce (YAS) and fish in light curry sauce. The fish was so soft it would melt in your tongue. Along with the baked oysters, I’ve also had a couple or ten prawns. You may pair these viands with plain or fried rice (similar to yang chow).

There was a generous spread and variety of desserts in the middle of the room. From fresh fruits, apple pie, panna cotta and the most delicious ube I’ve had in a while. This variant is native to Bohol called Kinampay Ube wherein they can only harvest it once a year. Good thing is it can be stored without going bad for the rest of the year.

They also have steak nights on Thursdays and just all round good food for the rest of the week.
