6 Fashion Trends To Try This Year

As someone who tries to be a good fashion blogger, I want to keep up with the trends, that I like (important), to share with you and inspire you so you can dress yourself and have your own spin around it. More often than not, however, I actually can’t keep up to every single trend because (1) limited resources, it usually gets here late in our country and as much as I’d like to don one, it’s nowhere in the racks, and (2) that’s a whole lot of money, keeping up! Hence, I’ve compiled the top trends I’ve been loving this year, so far, without having to spend or find one (although, most of these, you can already find even at affordable prices)! I found this online shop that has all of the trends I’ve been looking for, see more of Zaful here, but you may also find links I’ve added after each trend!

1. Gingham

Definitely the print of early 2017, gingham has been on the racks for months now and it isn’t going away! A bold yet easy-to-pair-with-anything print, it’s no surprise that everyone’s having a hoot over gingham! I, personally, like to imagine myself pairing it with a plain red item to don that classic black, white and red combo. Keyword: imagine, because I still haven’t gotten around to purchasing one! I’ve been eyeing those Topshop trousers with ruffled hem for months now but alas, I can’t justify the $$$ just yet. Hopefully, it’ll go on sale soon, or maybe you wanna buy me it? 😉

2. Embroidery

A trend that started brewin’ last year continues on this year and is apparently here to stay. From shoes to tops and bottoms, embroidery makes an otherwise plain item into something delicate and charming! It, also, helps that most of these embroidered prints are flowers, and florals being a famous print, it sure entices a lot!

3. Flares and Ruffles

I put ruffles and flares in the same point as they’re somewhat similar and often go hand in hand together. Layered flares, in particular, for sleeves, trousers and skirts are what I’m drawn to the most! It makes me feel like this emoji: 💃🏼, ready to salsa and all! But let’s be honest, ruffles make me feel the same! Both, flares and ruffles, give off a stereotypical feminine vibe as they create frilly silhouettes.

4. Puff / Balloon Sleeves

Puff or balloon sleeves are just about to go mainstream here. So far, I’ve only found them in Bershka and Zara, which is frustrating! I need more options (affordable ones, maybe, hihi)! Please, brands, don’t let us be late to the trend! It probably won’t sell to a lot of people as it’s quite an intimidating statement, but alongside layered flares, it’s such a game-changer to sleeves! Puff sleeves with layered flares skirt, a scarf to the neck, basket bag and a pointed shoe with ruffle details, BOOM! That’s the dream fashion week outfit!

5. Blue Stripes

Low-key competing with gingham is this blue stripes print trend. It seems it became the default print for the statement trends I’ve mentioned above. Ruffles in blue stripes? Check. Puff sleeves in blue stripes? Check. Embroidery? Check. Off-shoulder in blue stripes? A thousand times check! It came at such a perfect timing, as well. Summer rolled in and this blue & white combo screams beach escapade more than any print releases for S/S 2017! Quite easy to pair it with other summer colors, too. It’s started to rain on this side of the world already, but don’t worry, the west is just about to summer and, welp, being in the tropics help. Go on and don’t let the weather stop you from buying that print!

6. Tasseled Earrings

I just bought 4 tasseled earrings this week. I know. But they make my don’t-care-about-jewelry heart flutter! You may have noticed how I’ve never given much thought to accessories with my past style posts. I don’t even like wearing a watch. I’ll like something, may it be a ring or watch or earrings, then it’ll be in the drawer after a month. I suppose, that’s why I don’t invest in expensive jewelry. But these tassel earrings gave life to my boring way of accessorizing. It is such a small but impactful detail that you can wear with even just a slogan shirt and denim!
