If you haven’t already, I’d like you to have a look at my day look, first. If you did, then please read on. This is the night look of my previous post. Changed a couple of things and I’m ready to head for dinner.
I did not change my hair style since the dress, as previously mentioned, has a high neckline. It also has this beautiful ruffles that it’d be a shame to cover it up. The balloon sleeves and empire (the cinched bit is underneath the chest instead of the usual waist) style played nicely with stilettos. It created the illusion of a higher waistline, and therefore, longer legs, making me look taller than I am.
I switched the pinks with nudes because (1) you can never go wrong with neutral-tones and (2) see number 1. On night outs, I particularly love carrying small bags or clutches and to only have the essentials with me. Most especially, when I’m wearing heels, I don’t want to carry around the such heavy load. Plus, it’s a party pooper to always have to keep an eye on your huge bag which may need to sit at the booth when you go on to the dance floor or buffet area.
I chose this nude heels with pretty mesh detailing on the sides as it isn’t too high nor too low. It has the right amount of height which makes me confident that I wouldn’t be limping around or just go barefoot at the end of the night.
No changes to my make-up as well, but you can switch to a burgundy lip, if you fancy. The nude-colored accessories will balance out dark lip colors, so it won’t be too overwhelming. Just make sure you don’t amp up your eye make up. Bold eyes and bold lips don’t usually coexist beautifully together.
A prim and proper transformation, how would you style a day-to-night look with dresses?
