Rose Et Bourgogne

January went by so fast, I can’t believe it’s the month of love again! Would you go on a date with me?

Rose Et Bourgogne

Last year, I wrote a list of songs to listen to on Valentine’s… the catch is, it is for the heartbroken. I also did a Rose Gold make up tutorial which is, actually, perfect for this look! But other than those two, 1 anti-love and 1 for-all-season-kind-of-generic palette, I couldn’t be bothered at all. I’m not really big on Valentine’s Day. My boyfriend and I spend it like any other day, maybe with a bit more kiss emojis, haha. I suppose, given the geographical disadvantage that we have, we can’t really go on dates. But if I were to go on a fancy date with him this year, I’d wear this fool-proof ensemble.

As cliché as it may, red will always be the color of love. But if you want to divert from that path, you can always find great shades from the red palette. Burgundy and pink are just two of the more famous red variation. To add more thrill, play with different textures, too!

I found this gorgeous lace crop top on Zalora. At first, I didn’t want to classify it as lace because it’s thick and resembles embroidery more, but after a few Google searches, it might be of the guipure type. This top sits right below my waist, so it doesn’t show too much skin in contrast with most crop tops. It reveals a bit of my shoulders but that’s about it. Classy and alluring at the same time.

As you may know, I ruined all my pleated skirts back in the UK when I made it play around the dryer, hahahuhu. It didn’t take long for me to search for another one, though. Metallic and pink, it doesn’t get any prettier than that. Interestingly, it, being metallic, plays around with lights and shadows. I love how it’s quite blue toned on some photos and rose gold in others. It’s almost as if I’m wearing different skirts. However, it is quite long. If I wear flats with this, I will definitely look very short. So, be careful when pairing your long skirts, that is not bohemian, with flats.

Adding to the play of textures, a velvet wedge heels is perfect. Burgundy, that is. It can also be of nude color or rose pink. If you prefer wearing stilettos or open-toed pumps, just make sure it gives you the right amount of height, to lift you up when paired with this kind of long skirt.

A rose gold watch, and a burgundy lip were two of the accessories that I thought would greatly match and easily complement the color palette. A nude clutch, however, gave me that neutral break. I didn’t want everything to be so uniformed, so a tiny window for neutrality is good. Other than a nude hue, you can work with black or gold, too.
