If you’ve been reading up here, you’ll know that I love a good haul. I like watching them on YouTube and actually doing it. It’s like a community giving each other inspiration in whatever aspect they’re covering. It does seem consumeristic, so forgive me. But it’s not everyday I get to decorate my new room. Yes, we moved!
Although it’s bittersweet to separate with your home for more than 10 years, new beginnings are always exciting. I said goodbye (I still have clothes back the other home, though) to my room, evidently owned by a teenager with its bright coral pink walls, Paramore and Twenty One Pilots logos that was impulsively painted on the blank side of the room, a baby pink closet and adjacent bookshelves.
I decided, with my new room, that I act and design my age. I’m all for expressing yourself and no age stereotyping so what I really meant with ‘act my age’ was, design how I want it to be in my current state of mind. Now, what would my current state of mind want? Welp, no other than stereotypical blogger interiors; mostly whites, minimalist, shabby chic, bits of rose gold and most importantly, instagram-ready, haha!
Off we go!
200cm x 200cm Duvet Cover. From 2990 to 700 to 595, thanks to year-end sales and 15% discounts. This comes with 2 50cm x 80cm pillow cases. I may have to buy the pillows sometime next payday, lol.
Duvets are not necessary in this country, but I’ve always wanted one since I lived in Scotland. Our apartment back there had good beds, sheets and duvets. It was a joy to come home and snooze comfortably. We spend a third of our lives sleeping, why not make it as comfy as possible?
40cm x 40cm Cushions and Cushion Covers in Grey and Pink. Cushions at 299 and covers vary depending on the design but these plain ones are priced at 199. (Or the other way around, I have bad memory and I lost my receipt with these. Oof.) They’re not the must comfortable pillows, I suppose they’re just for decor. The selection of cushion covers are gorgeous, though!
Laundry Bag in Grey. From 899 to 700. You can find a different color here. It has a drawstring closure and plastic coating inside. I love how it comes across as vintage. I actually got a smaller storage before this, way cheaper as well but it didn’t have closure and as they say, don’t leave your dirty laundry out in the open, so I got it exchanged for the one above mainly because of the closure.
Cotton Storage. From 599 to 200. I’m not sure what this is called but it’s perfect for storing my hair blower and flat iron. I leave it beside my bedside table where I usually fix my hair in the morning. It makes organizing, stylish.
Rose Gold Wire Basket. Around 700-800? I bought this last year, I really can’t remember. I’m a sheeple, rose gold was big last year, therefore, I felt like I needed this one, haha. It serves a great purpose currently, though. It stores most of my foundation and make up palettes. Not bad, me thinks!
Rose Gold Ornament. From 599(?) to 150. It looks trendy and serious. It helps me break the monotone in my room. Other than that? It serves no other purpose. But I had to! It’s rose gold and it’s just a hundred and fifty?! I mean, how can I pass on from that sweet deal?
Marble (Notepad?) Ornament. From 699 to 150. Marble’s the rage in the blogging world. It is beautiful in flat lays and all that but I managed to find a use for this. I don’t want to ruin my furniture so I put my flat iron on this when it’s in use since the surface won’t budge under heat. The rest of the day, it just sits pretty on my bedside table.
Marble Plate/Bowl. From 499 to 200. This one usually sits on my make up table where I figure out which accessory to pair my face with. I wanted to get that fake hand where you can put on multiple rings, but I can’t seem to find one around Cebu. This one’s the next choice. It’s just there, ready and waiting for me to put away my rings that I’ve used within the day, and it’s pretty, too! I do have a separate bag for my other accessories, these are just the ones I normally would reach out to.
I have other home decor I purchased, but not from H&M! Tell me if you wanna see those, next? Let me know if you’ve been inspired by my picks and/or what your current home inspo are!
