This month was rather quick, wasn’t it? Three months left to 2014 and it’ll be another year. But before all that, here’s our September playlist!
Majority of our newly discovered songs are of Flume’s. They’re actually released months or years ago and we can’t believe we’re just enjoying these today. Flume has such a unique take on electronic music, he doesn’t rely too much on bass drops which are certainly becoming overrated these days. His build up on HyperParadise is our favorite. Check him out and we promise you won’t regret it!
The Manila Killa Remix of All I Want has such a chill yet poppy tune. I believe we featured this song before but this remix sounds so fresh, we can’t refuse to feature it again.
George Maple’s Talk Talk is another chill vibe song. Unsurprising for us. We really really really love this kind of songs. So if you have any music you’d want to share that has this kind of vibe, please do comment down below!
Neyo is back! Temporary or not. This beat is quite catchy, but hoping he’d release songs of substance in the future though. We really love his style and his voice brings back high school rhythm and blues love jam memories. The ones that would make you sick of love songs (geddit?) but can’t stop listening to them as well.
A killer single by the rap royals, Know Bout Me’s piano riff makes up the song to be honest.
Luvbug’s debut, Resonance, gives out the let’s-travel-and-escape vibes, bittersweet and uplifting at the same time. Really impressive for a debut single.
September is also a very special month for us, and that’s basically why Until The End of Time and Cater 2 U were rediscovered. These songs are too sweet and definitely something snuggles and cuddles would be required. For some reason, “We always dreamed about this better life, this better life” from Icona Pop’s All Night gives me motivation. Paul and I always look forward to the better life and that’s how we’re surviving this geographically disadvantaged situation. We think we actually have a good life now but we know that being together we’ll have “the better life”. Cheeeezay, but yeah, not something you’d get from an EDM. Ha!
Next up, I mean, how old were you when you first heard Stick Wit U? Such a sweet song by Pussycat Dolls. Fifth Harmony’s Better Together is also quite a mainstream song months ago, they’re a new girl group and I don’t think we’ll be checking them out regularly however this song, we discovered when Tori Kelly, Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi sang a part of it here and as expected (Tori is Paul’s crush) it was pretty flawless, better than Fifth Harmony even.
Paul kept playing Own It months ago when Drake released his latest album and I didn’t really listen to it. He influence me with Drake, something I’d never thought I would listen to but hey, he’s tunes are quite good. They’re not as overwhelming as some rap songs are, some are your typical money-money-money but there are rare jewels in there for definite.
