PxR Playlist of August 2014

Hello guys! Been incognito for awhile thanks to my lovely and painful wisdom tooth (about to go surgery next week, wish me luck!). But I digress, it’s time for another we-think-our-music-choice-is-so-good playlist! Woohoo! August has been a month of new releases and Beyoncé’s live concert, I mean, the VMA’s. So here are our picks for August:

AugPlaylist

Ariana Grande – My Everything

Be My Baby (ft. Cashmere Cat) Listen

Break Your Heart Right Back (ft. Childish Gambino) Listen

Love Me Harder (ft. The Weeknd) Listen

We’ve been fans of Ariana since last year, when I decided to listen to her back in Dundee. I got hooked because that girl has amazing vocals. Her cover of Emotions is still one of my go-to cheer up songs. Her first album was actually really good so we expected the same with My Everything and we weren’t disappointed. Our favorites are listed above!

Shannon Saunders – Sheets Listen

A very underrated YouTube artist, Shannon has one of the most unique voices that is yet to be discovered. Her voice fits most of jazz and mellow melodies but Sheets is different since she took her jazzy vocals to a dance tune. Quite a lovely mix!

Superhumanoids – So Strange Listen

Love this indie pop song. Nuff said.

Starlord’s Mom – Awesome Mix Volume 1 Listen

The Jackson 5 – I Want You Back Listen

Blue Swede – Hooked On A Feeling Listen

Redbone – Come And Get Your Love Listen

Rupert Holmes – Escape Listen

That movie has the greatest soundtrack ever. You can definitely not leave the cinemas without a song stuck in your head. I love how they brought back the past greatest hits. Ooga chaka ooga ooga!

Sia – Chandelier Listen

Sara Bareilles – Cover of Chandelier Listen

I know this one’s old but Sara made me appreciate the song even more. I got weirded out by the music video at first but if you try to understand the meaning behind it (alcoholism and other evils) and how intriguing it is that Sia doesn’t perform facing the audience. Sara’s version though, it gives you more pain through her clear belts and ukulele.

And lastly, some chill, headnod-causing jams:

Tinashe ft. Schoolboy Q – 2 On Listen

Zhu – Faded Listen

DJ Khaled ft. Chris Brown, August Alsina, Future, Jeremih – Hold You Down Listen
